Akros Limited was founded in 2016 with a clear mission: to unlock the full potential of Tanzania's cashew industry by processing raw nuts locally and exporting premium products directly to international markets.
Based at the SIDO Industrial Estate in Mtwara — the heart of Tanzania's cashew-growing region — we source raw cashew nuts from farming communities across the surrounding villages, ensuring fair prices and sustainable livelihoods for the growers who make our business possible.
Today, with over 300 workers and a modern processing facility, we export 56+ metric tons of expertly graded cashew kernels every month to buyers across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Akros Limited founded in Mtwara, Tanzania, with a vision to become a leading cashew processor and exporter.
Established village sourcing networks across the Mtwara region. Began building processing capacity at SIDO Industrial Estate.
Expanded workforce to 300+ employees. Implemented Critical Control Points (CCP) quality system and third-party SGS pre-shipment inspections.
Reached 56+ metric ton monthly export capacity. Now supplying buyers across five continents with premium graded cashew kernels, roasted cashews, and cashew butter.

We recycle cashew shells as boiler fuel instead of using charcoal or wood, saving thousands of trees annually. Our water treatment plant and energy conservation programs reduce our footprint at every stage.
With 300+ workers receiving fair wages and best working conditions, we prioritise female employment, youth empowerment programmes, and profit-sharing with grower communities. Zero tolerance for child labour.
